French luxury house, Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy (LVMH ) is investing $25 million in the development of premium fashion shoe brand Charles and Keith in Indian cities like Chennai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Lucknow and Ludhiana. The Singapore-based company, owned by the Wong brothers, focusses on trendy and affordable women’s footwear. With a retail network of 230 stores in 29 countries, it looks at opening 40 to 50 stores across India in the near future, under the LVMH brand name. Voila! Such a maiden arrival of the big corporate in the Indian retail domain will bring in a fresh business opportunity for the in-shop/in-store signage players.
