Vanguard Digital Printing Systems has recently revealed two UV-LED wide-format printers—the 126-inch VKR3200-HS hybrid roll-to-roll printer and 50 x 99-inch VR6D-HS flatbed, which eventually define the real of premium RTR (roll-to-roll) printing and production. Leveraging Kyocera KJ4A two-channel printheads and a high-speed electromagnetic drive system, the VKR3200-HS RTR press offers print speeds up to 3,000 sq ft/hr on rolls up to 98-in. wide and flat media up to 2.5-in. thick. It unique features include water-cooled LED curing lamps dual-roll printing, ink-catch for porous media, and CMYK + white ink. Applications include wallpaper, static cling, PVC or mesh banners, and more flexible media applications.
On other hand, VR6D-HS flatbed combines RICOH Gen 6 printheads with a high-speed magnetic drive for print speeds up to 1001 sq ft/hr; users can upgrade to 10 printheads in two rows for max print speeds reaching 1557 sq ft/hr. Additional features of this high-end roll-to-roll printer include four vacuum zones, variable drop size, static-eliminating ionization bars, LED curing technology, and support for CMYK + white + varnish ink. VR6D-HS flatbed is compatible with rigid and flexible media up to 4 inch thick.
