X-Rite announces upgraded spectrophotometer

Colour management, measurement and solution company X-Rite has announced the launch of MA-T12, an upgraded spectrophotometer that measures the effect finishes and complex materials with 12 angles of measurement and a calibrated camera. This allows PSPs and display manufacturers to verify colour, sparkle, coarseness and surface texture. X-Rite in corporation with Pantone has developed the new capabilities of MA-T12 multi-angle handheld spectrophotometer as well as the PANTORA desktop software to measure and visualise a broader range of materials, including plastics, leather, fabrics and structured coatings.

The new X-Rite and Pantone updates make it easier and more affordable to capture and digitise colour and appearance characteristics of complex materials using one measurement device. With this solution, customers can transform a physical material into a digital twin or virtual prototype for remote visual approval, minimising the need to ship samples between design teams, suppliers and partners. In addition to effect paints, the combined solution now characterises a range of materials used across diverse platforms including automotive, electronics, etc.
