The 30-day theater photography exhibition shot before and during Ranga Shankara Theatre Festival 2007, was held recently at Ranga Shankara (Bangalore), the only place in South India dedicated to theatre. All photographs for the show were printed on an Epson Stylus Pro Inkjet Printer using archival (up to 200 years) quality Epson UltraChrome K3 Inks.
The exhibition has brought by Ranga Shankara and Epson and curated by renowned photographer Pallon Daruwala, seven photographers showcased their rendition of theatre, art and Ranga Shankara. The talented young photographers showcasing their works were Anandi Chowriappa, Harris Backer, Murali N, Patrick Wilson, Neha Bajaj, Sai Darshan Paliwal and Vivek Mathew.
According to Arundhati Nag, managing trustee and creative director of Ranga Shankara, “This exhibition is a starting point for us to showcase theatre photography. Though the pictures on display are not from plays performed on stage but are elements and moments captured off stage of Ranga Shankara, we hope to make performing arts photography a regular feature at the Ranga Shankara Gallery.”
