Swiss premium watch maker Longines recently announced their consideration to open company-owned single brand retail outlets in India following relaxation in FDI norms here. The company may consider a few corporate (company-owned) stores. The company is currently present in India through 70 stores, of which 65 are multi-brand retail outlets and the rest are franchise-owned. The company is currently growing at over 30% in India with sales of around 10,000 units annually. In the next two years, Longines is looking at a growth of 15% every year. Gradual expansion of Longines outlets in the country would bring in some good mileage in the business of signage players whose activities involve with jobs in in-shop displays and others.
