Debasish Gupta, who led 3M India as division head over the last five years of robust growth, is now moving to Dubai as business manager, 3M, Middle East & Africa. His tenure in India was marked with achievements, which included establishing 3M presence in the printed graphics & decorative space and establishing a strong partner network across the country, besides helping harness the 3M partner network and strong internal processes to launch the program management solutions business. Debasish has passed the baton to K A Appiah who shall come with seventeen years of rich & diverse experience in 3M with responsibilities ranging from division head of Stationery & office supplies division to his current role as division head for Electronics solutions which provides innovative solutions for electronic assembly applications. To drive the four growth engines, the division also has a new marketing team lead by Sunil Muralidharan who has held product management responsibilities in Samsung before moving to 3M, where his last role was as a Black Belt – Lean Six Sigma.
Speaking about the future business outlook, Appiah said, “In the current challenging business environment, the need for creating effective differentiation and getting maximum returns from the marketing monies spent becomes even more important for brand owners. 3M commercial graphics with its innovative products, services, experienced people & great partners is well positioned to help brands achieve this objective. The focus in 2009 will be to increase 3M’s reach to more and more printers & partnering with them to create a winning proposition for their customers. The company’s authorised printers also stand to gain through our philosophy of investing in partner skill development” he added.
