Walmart Inc has recently announced that they will continue to grow its wholesale cash-and-carry business in India by adding 50 new stores in the next four-five years. The company currently has 21 stores. The company a a pipeline of 20 stores, expecting to open 5 stores in the current year and then pick up pace and eventually start opening 12-15 stores a year. For the cash-and-carry business, Walmart currently operates in 9 states and 19 cities and the future expansion is focused on more or less the same geographies, primarily focus is on Punjab, Haryana, UP, Uttrakhand, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Signage companies with the knack of in-store branding and graphic projects must roll up their sleeves to grab this new business opportunity that Walmart is going to offer.
