Tata, Reliance join hands to build shopping malls

Tata Realty and Infrastructure will open the doors to its 700,000 sq ft mall either later this year or early next year. The company has three more malls in the pipeline in Nagpur, Bangalore and Gurgaon, which are expected to be ready in the next three years. Tata Realty is planning to build malls nationwide but that will primarily depend on the availability of the right kind of locations in various metro and Tier-II cities. Another corporate giant, Reliance Industries, is also developing millions of square feet of retail space to house its own brands as well as to rent out small portions to other retailers. Such a plan for new malls across the country is quite strategic and is a new business opportunity for the signage companies dealing in in-shop displays and other related activities.
