Tata plans third retail venture

Tata International Ltd—the global trading arm of the group and one of the country’s biggest export houses—plans to set up a retail chain for footwear. The first store is likely to open in Delhi shortly. The Tata group’s intent to consolidate its position in the competitive retail business is clear. The company has been pushing Croma launched under the Infiniti Retail banner, a 100 percent subsidiary of Tata Sons, across several Indian cities such as Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Pune, Delhi Bangalore and Surat. In such mega expansion progress of Tata International, in-store signage companies as well as print providers, sign makers would find a new business momentum.
