Kolkata-based Shrachi Group is planning to open a shopping mall at Chandannagar, nearly 30 km north of the city, by July next year. This will be the Group’s second shopping mall in a small town. Shrachi currently operates the Junction mall at Durgapur, West Bengal’s industrial town. The company is concentrating on smaller cities, since the return on investment is higher compared to a metro. The group is also targeting the larger chunk of brand conscious buyers in the smaller cities. Opening of such high-end mall in the city will bring in a fresh business opportunity for the signage players whose activities involve in in-shop branding, designs, displays, etc.
