Shoppers’ Stop is planning to expand over the next three years to catch up with competitions. The company was among the first movers in the country’s organised retail market, it has about 1.9 million sq ft of retail space today. And it has been planned that Shoppers’ Stop will be adding one million sq ft in the next three years. This would mean 18 new department stores by 2013, the highest addition in the company’s history. As of today, it has 29 department stores and five Hypercity outlets, apart from Crossword bookstores, and specialty store MAC, among others. No doubt, such move to unveil more Shopper’s Stop outlets across the country will be bringing in an unmatched opportunity not only for shoppers but also for in-store signage companies and sign suppliers.
