Instilled by rapid growth in the retail sector, Shoppers Stop plans to open 24 stores in India by FY14. The company plans the new stores as they start to unveil 8-9 Shoppers Stop stores in the current fiscal. As of now, the company has 38 stores across the country, with a total retail space of about 2.3 million square feet. Apart from the Shoppers Stop departmental stores, the company has five speciality retail formats like Home Stop, Mothercare, Crosswords, Estee Lauder and Mac. Such a big expansion plan of Shopper’s Stop will be a sunshine opportunity for the signage companies engaging in POP and other in-shop signs and graphics.
