A popular and effective method of advertising is vehicle wraps but applying a vehicle wrap involves skill and craftsmanship. Avery Dennison India (Pvt) Ltd recently organised seminars on vehicle wrap training programme in Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore, which were well attended.
Avery Dennison India (Pvt) Ltd – Graphics Division successfully conducted the vehicle wrap applicator training programme, spread over three cities (Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore). The programme was held in the week of June 26-30, 2006 and was attended by over 160 people, including professionals from more than 70 converting companies and 15 end-users and advertising agencies.
Kieran Hooper, business manager, Avery Dennison Australia, Materials Division, who has experience of over 15 years and 100+ training, conducted the programme, which was highly appreciated by the attendees. They got an insight into the art of successfully wrapping vehicles with digital prints. Certain tools required for proper application include tape measure and masking tape for positioning, spray bottle with detergent and water, isopropyl alcohol and lint free rags for cleaning, felt or felt tipped plastic squeegee, applicator gloves and air release tool for application and heat gun to assist application, especially for post heating.
Certain tips were also given to wrap the vehicle in style. These included applying dry graphic, using firm overlapping strokes with squeegee, keeping stretching of a graphic to a minimum, removing air bubbles using an air release tool, applying good pressure all over the graphic, allowing 20-30 minutes for adhesive to build and post heating all areas which have been stretched to 80-90% to allow film to keep its memory.
Avery Dennison plans to hold further advanced training programmes for quality conscious converting companies in near future. These programmes will help the converters gain Avery Authorized Converter Certificates in vehicle wraps, which is an industry benchmark globally for any such applications including
full and partial vehicle wraps, building outdoor and indoor graphics, aircraft graphics, window graphics, etc.
