Ricoh launches new Latex wide-format printers

Commercial printing businesses can now easily expand into a growing market of signage and display printing with new wide-format colour graphics printers – RICOH Pro L4160/ Pro L4130 – that employ aqueous latex ink, a more environmental-friendly ink as compared to traditional petroleum-based inks due to its lower levels of volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The new RICOH Pro L4160/ Pro L4130 deliver high print productivity and quality. It can support up to seven colours in various configurations, including orange, green and white inks in addition to CMYK.

With the ability to print three layers of ink in one pass with white and colour inks, printing of applications such as transparent stickers, PET, window films and more are now possible. These roll-to-roll large format printers handle media sizes up to 63.8 inches (Pro L4160) or 54 inches (Pro L4130) wide. With the use of latex inks, the RICOH Pro L4160/ Pro L4130 eliminate the need for special ventilation that traditional wide-format graphics printers require. Latex inks are fast drying, and aided further by three integrated heaters (pre, print, post heaters) as well as drying fans, prints are ready for finishing after exiting the system.
