Patanjali targets 30 lakh shops countrywide by 2017

Patanjali Ayurved, the FMCG venture promoted by yoga guru Baba Ramdev, has announced that it has target for over 30 lakhs shops by next year and get into e-commerce trade in a big way. The Haridwar-based firm is setting up manufacturing plants in Northeast India in Assam. The Assam facility, which will come up with an investment of Rs 1,200 crore, will have manufacturing facility of 10 lakh metric tones (MT) per year. Patanjali has around 5000 retail outlets and its products are available in 10 lakh shops, but the company is targeting to scale it to 30 lakh shops by next fiscal. In this, signage players have a role here—they must tap projects on on-shop fabrications, branding, graphics, designs… with the expansion of Patanjali shops.
