German wholesale giant METRO Cash & Carry announces the unveiling its new store in Zirakpur near Chandigarh. This is the company’s third wholesale store in Punjab. It plans to open another store in Amritsar by next month, taking the number of stores in Punjab to four, the highest in any state. A company source reveals that the higher purchasing power in the state was the main reason why METRO Cash & Carry was opening more stores. Surging of METRO Cash & Carry stores in the state is a good sign of business for the signage companies dealing in in-shop designs, displays and other related activities in the retail sector.
