A day after the central government cleared the way for FDI in the retail sector, Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan took the lead and announced that the new policy would be implemented soon in the state. The state government will study the entire policy in detail and initiate necessary measures to implement it soon in Maharashtra. The ruling Congress in the state is being supported by its alliance partner, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), on the FDI issue. Surge in the retail sector with such new FDI policy will offer a fresh business opportunity for the signage companies whose main activities involve in in-shop displays, branding, etc.
