Maiden edition of FESPA Digital India 2009 (Feb 28-Mar 2) held at Bombay Exhibition Centre (BEC), Mumbai attracted nearly 3,000 visitors from different parts of the country, despite recession. Though the visitors were predominantly from the domestic market apart from neighbouring countries such as Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, the manufacturers of signage machineries and consumables also came from the Middle East, Europe, North America and other Asian countries including Japan, Korea and Taiwan.
Commenting on visitor’s traffic to the three-day show, Frazer Chesterman, managing director, FESPA stated, “We had an excellent visitors’ turnout to our first digital Indian show FESPA Digital India 2009, despite the event’s postponement due to the tragic terrorist attacks in Mumbai.” He further mentioned that this is testament to the region’s buoyant and fast-growing digital market, Indian printers’ enthusiasm to explore the latest innovations in the sector and FESPA’s reputation to provide high calibre, value-driven events.
