Delhi may get first multinational firms; CM backs fast rack FDI plan

Delhi may soon become the first city in the country to have multinational retail outlets, as Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit-led government fast-tracking the process to clear any hurdles. Delhi government has decided to amend the existing laws to ensure implementation of the Centre’s decision on FDI in retail and facilitate entry of multinational firms. According to government sources, Dikshit has directed all the departments concerned to move quickly on the issue. Such fast rack move in the retail sector of the capital city will benefit the signage companies whose mainstay in business revolves around the in-shop/in-store signage and displays.
