Like its popular G5, D.gen’s newly introduced H6 is a 3.3m direct-to-fabric sublimation printer. It features a heat fixation unit that gives the machine a smaller and more compact footprint, which the Korean manufacturer said will help the Teleios range to appeal to a broader customer base. This six-colour machine, which can be used with both disperse dye ink and textile pigment ink, incorporates six RICOH Gen5 printheads – two fewer than the higher- specification G5.
Maximum speed of H6 is 177sq m/hr at 600dpi, while 1,200dpi can be achieved at speeds of 93 sqm/hr and 1,800dpi at 63sq m/hr. With the excellent ink penetration of direct fabric printing, the market targeted by this new d.gen unit is soft signage for applications including flags, trade show displays, lightboxes, table covers, banners, fence mesh and tents. It can also be used for home textiles.
