Manufactured under the ‘Make in India’ initiative, Colors Digital India (CDI) has launched a new 10-ft all-in-one printer with RICOH Gen5 printhead—Heavy Body TM-Gen5. It is said to be ‘all-in-one’ because of its capability to handle UV, eco-solvent, and solvent printing altogether in one system. “Earlier this machine was designed for UV printing only. For the convenience for users with wider options, we have reconfigured the machine as a multitasking system to handle eco-solvent and solvent printing as well. This upgrade opens new opportunity for users to handle wider colour gamut, graphic textures, and applications,” tells Tejinder Singh, Director, Colors Digital India.
Demonstrated at the recent Media Expo 2025 Chennai, this newly launched Heavy Body TM-Gen5 is capable to operate at the speed of 900sqft/hr, delivering graphic prints up to 10ft. When it comes to using solvent ink, it is compatible with 7 pico litre. Bundled with the printer is Ultra Print RIP software. Heavy Body TM-Gen5 consumes 3KW power with input of AC 220V, 50Hz. Tejinder says the launch of the Heavy Body TM-Gen5 is redefining solvent printing to another level with larger prospects of the printer with other options for UV and eco-solvent. CDI has a state-of-the-art manufacturing plant at Kasna Industrial Area in Greater Noida, Delhi-NCR.
