Caldera has released a new unified structure, consolidating all RIP products under the streamlined Caldera RIP identity. A comprehensive restructuring of its software portfolio aimed at modern print businesses that simplify choices, support scalability, and better reflect their needs. Historically, Caldera carried distinct RIP solutions, such as GrandRIP and VisualRIP, which behaved as distinct brands. From this foundation, customers now choose between: Perpetual Licensing (software ownership with optional upgrades), or Subscription Licensing (flexible, ongoing usage with version continuity). Both options offer a simple three-tier choice to select from.
The new structure supports a product philosophy of Caldera aligning with modern print shop growth paths. A small shop may begin with a single aqueous device producing decals & posters, then at a later stage scale up to a flatbed and more advanced finishing system. Their Caldera software implementation scales with them, without forcing a platform change or feature renegotiation. Caldera’s portfolio reorganisation is more than a naming exercise and it reflects a shift towards simplicity over segmentation, capabilities over configuration, growth support over gatekeeping. Customers no longer face the frustration of choosing the “right” RIP variant or paying for software capacity they’re not yet using. The system is built for clarity, with straightforward check-box comparisons that allow print companies to immediately see which tier supports their current equipment, and how easily they can transition upward.
