Xaar partnered innovation wins ‘Best of Show’ award at On Demand, Boston

Recently Xaar has celebrated another achievement, as PAT Technology Systems’ innovative Varstar sheet-fed digital UV coater finishing system won a ‘Best of Show’ Award at this year’s On Demand Conference and Expo, at Boston. The On Demand Awards recognise companies that are truly at the forefront of innovation and leadership in the digital imaging and document solutions industry.

According to Mark Alexander, director of marketing for Xaar, “The combination of PAT’s innovative engineering and Xaar’s inkjet expertise is certainly a winning one and this award is a terrific endorsement of its capabilities.”

Launched in October last year, Varstar was the first system to implement Xaar’s revolutionary 1001 printhead, the first offering from their hybrid side-shooter (HSST) inkjet platform. The result is the world’s first true commercial digital varnishing coater producing ‘on the fly’ flood and spot coating, textures and special effects in a single pass from just a digital graphics file.
