Tekra, a division of EIS Inc, has expanded its line of UV Inkjet printable films by offering a wide selection of rigid vinyl (PVC) films for use with UV inkjet printers. With the increasing speed, size, and quality of newer UV inkjet printers, there are many large format, low cost, short term applications that still require durability. Moreover, Tekra is seeing the use of digital printers increase dramatically for these applications. With these instances, rigid vinyl is a great film option because it offers the desired rigidity without requiring a coating for UV inks, which keeps the material affordable for temporary applications, stated a source from the company.
Rigid vinyl is typically used in applications such as POP displays, temporary menu boards and displays that are often changed out or thrown away after a fairly short period of time. Tekra actively stocks large sheets of rigid vinyl typically 25 x 52 inch, ranging from clear to white opaque to black, gloss/gloss to matte/matte finishes and .010 to .040 inch.
