SGIA EXPO ’08: always getting on innovations

Attended by 19,201 exhibitors (as per organisers) from all over the world, SGIA Expo’08 held during 15-18 October at Georgia World Congress Centre, Atlanta marked a fruitful rendezvous among printers, suppliers, distributors and manufacturers exchanging their products and businesses. A total number of 478 exhibitors participated in the mega show organised at 225,686 sq ft exhibition centre. More than 80 percent American visitors attended the mega show with excellent traffics from the countries like Canada, Mexico and South Korea.

Categorised into two segments, prominent platinum sponsors of the four-day mega event included 3M Graphics Market Center, EFI VUTEk, Gandinnovations, Hewlett Packard Co, US Screen Print and Inkjet Technology. Whereas the gold sponsors were the companies like InteliCoat Technologies, Roland DGA Corp and Sun Chemical.

Innovative marketplace

“SGIA is a premier platform for demonstrating EFI’s industry-leading innovations in the super-wide format market,” said Chuck Dourlet, vice president of marketing at EFI VUTEk. He further stated that the company has never been disappointed with their ability at SGIA to have meaningful interaction with existing customers, generate qualified leads and keep tabs on what is happening with competition.

Tom Black, marketing operations manager, 3M Graphics Market Center said, “As the market leader in film graphic products, 3M is proud to align itself with SGIA, one of the premier graphic imaging industry organisations.” According to Tom Reilly, Gandinnovation’s vice president of marketing and advertising, “SGIA is seen as the biggest show in North America for the sign and graphics industry.” He stressed on, “It’s very important that we support this show and are proud to be a member of the Association.”

The next SGIA ’09 will be held from 7-9 October 2009 at the Ernest M Morial Convention Centre, New Orleans, USA.
