MIMAKI witnesses strong growth in UV LED and automation

MIMAKI Europe has issued an end-of-year summary in which strong growth in UV printers and an increasing interest in production automation have been predicted. According to a source from the company, the challenges the pandemic has and is bringing, but adds that this has accelerated the need for localised production. MIMKAI technologies now focus on market verticals including sign graphics, industrial UV, textile and 3D additive manufacturing. Despite the past couple of years, the company sees growth within these markets, and likewise the company’s technologies have continued to grow and develop with it. The end of this year concludes the end of my first six months within the MIMAKI Europe team.

With the pandemic continuing to disrupt businesses and persistent logistical issues with overseas imports, this year has presented many obstacles both within and outside of the printing industry. The challenges within the supply chain witnessed an accelerated need for localised production and on-demand digital printing. MIMAKI was able to support businesses with this increased demand and will, of course, continue to do so with our continually expanding digital technology offering. The particular growth this year has been seen in especially with UV printing. The company is in a leading position in the European market in the graphics arts segment for two consecutive quarters, mainly because of the higher adoption rate of UV LED technology, which is over twice that of the total market.
