Despite pause on store openings due to the pandemic, big brand domestic and international fashion retailers are ramping up India expansion plans. Benetton India is targeting 30 to 40 new stores across the country in future, in markets such as Gangtok, Ranchi and Delhi. In pre-Covid years, the brand usually opened between 25 and 30 new stores in India annually. Levi’s meanwhile, began opening new stores towards the end of 2020 and found it has been able to move into prime locations with better rental terms as retailers harder hit by the pandemic moved out. Such optimism in the retail sector with many big brands going on the spree of retail expansion in future is a big business opprt5unity for the signage companies whose activities involve in-store projects.
