Kama Ayurveda to add 16 stores in 2019

Indian beauty brand Kama Ayurveda, which runs about 40 stores across the country, is expanding its portfolio and will add 16 new stores to its existing kitty. The brand, which has been backed by Lighthouse Funds and sugar baroness Rajshree Pathy, has recently launched in airport locations like Raipur, Indore, Amritsar and Coimbatore. In 2012 the company opened its first standalone store. Then in 2014, after it received private equity, it grew 600 percent from having two stores to 40 stores. Today, 30 percent of its sales come in the form of online sales and it has 50 shop-in-shop stores as well. Now the company’s looking to expand beyond its tier-II market, reaching out to tier-III cities. Store network expansion plan of retail companies is an added business opportunity for the signage companies which engage in in-store projects.
