IKEA to unveil first shopping centre in Gurugram

Ingka Centres, a division of Ingka Group, announced its plan to open IKEA shopping center in Gurugram, with an investment of around Rs 3,300 cr. While construction will start in early 2022, the new centre is expected to generate more than 2,500 jobs and will contribute to further growth of organised retail in India, according to an official statement from the Ingka Group. Ingka Centres’ move to India is a part of its strategy to expand into new markets and to shape a portfolio of retail-led destinations that are fit for the future, the company added. The new shopping center would have a gross building area of 130,000 sq m. Opening of new flagship shopping centre like IKEA is a fresh business opportunity for the signage companies whose activities involve in in-store branding projects and other applications like environmental graphics and displays.
