H&M to open first eastern India outlet at Kolkata

Swedish fashion retailer Hennes & Mauritz (H&M) is expanding its presence in the eastern region, with its first outlet in Kolkata. The store will spread over 18,000 sq ft, coming up at the city’s Woodburn Central Mall off Elgin Road. The two-storey H&M Kolkata store will open on September 23. The brand is gearing up for long queue of shoppers on the opening day and will follow its global model of opening stores, with live music and more than 300 gift cards. The store will be one of the nine stores planned for the autumn, with others planned in cities like Coimbatore, Indore and Amritsar. Such a strategic expansion move of the H&M Group is a new business opportunity for the signage companies whose activities involve in in-shop designs, displays and such tasks.
