Godrej Nature’s Basket gears up for store expansion in metros

Grocery chain of the Godrej Group, Godrej Nature’s Basket, will focus its attention on select markets in the west and south of India as the firm looks to treble revenue in five years and expand its store network. According to a source from the company, the focus areas will include the Mumbai-Pune belt and Bengaluru. Of the 35 Nature’s Basket stores currently in operation in five cities, two are located in Hyderabad. The grocery chain, which currently has annual revenue of Rs 340 crore, may look to double its store count in metros such as Mumbai, where it has 14 outlets. The Pune and Bengaluru count, currently at 3 and 10 respectively, may also increase in the future. Such expansion of stores by leading retail brands may bring in fresh business opportunity for the signage companies whose activities involve in in-store designs, branding and such tasks.
