Funskool plans to open stores in tier-III cities

Chennai-based toy manufacturer Funskool is focusing on increasing its footprint in tier -III towns in India, where there is a latent demand for branded toys. The company plans to enter 75 small towns/pockets across Chennai, Bengaluru, Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai by October 2017. The decision to tap the under-penetrated tier III towns came after a market study by the company revealed the dearth of toy stores in these regions that stock branded toys. This new store expansion plan of Funskool in newer areas is an added business advantage for the signage companies whose jobs are mainly in in-shop branding, designing and such projects.
