Fujifilm launches Acuity Advance with white option

Acuity Advance from Fujifilm is the first true high-resolution wide-format UV flatbed CMYK (4-colour) printer with white option. Designed for print applications requiring fine detail and high-resolution imaging on a wide range of rigid and flexible media, it offers the latest breakthrough in wide-format UV imaging technology, enabling to print at a true production speed of 22.2 sq m/hour (238 sq ft/hour) delivering high quality images comparable to conventional print resolutions of 1440 dpi or higher.

This printer consists of two proprietary grayscale printheads per colour (cyan, magenta, yellow, black & white) and each grayscale printhead is capable of jetting variable droplets of ink ranging from 6 to 42 picolitre, enabling the printer to produce sharp, crisp images with smoother transitions and quarter tones resulting in photo realistic prints usually seen only at resolutions of 1440 dpi or higher. The optional white ink module allows end user to print white in-line – as part of the image content – or as under print or overprint layer. This allows greater flexibility in application of white ink within a job.

It uses Fujifilm Sericol’s Uvijet UV curable inks, delivering strong vibrant, lightfast colours. The combination of highly pigmented inks and variable drop size technology printheads results in very high ink coverage and thus lower cost of ink per unit area of print. These inks have exceptionally wide adhesion range to enable printing on a wide range of rigid and flexible media, including PVC foam board, acrylic, polycarbonate, ABS plastic, fluted polypropylene, wood, glass, ceramics, self adhesive vinyl, etc.
