FESPA UK introduces waste management scheme

FESPA UK, the regional division of global federation FESPA, has joined forces with recycling specialist Prismm Environmental to launch a new, impartial waste management scheme for its members. The new initiative will allow FESPA UK members from across the wide-format, textile, corrugated and screen printing markets to dispose of their print waste through the scheme, no matter where they originally purchased their materials. According to FESPA UK, it says the move will significantly decrease the amount of waste materials being sent from the industry to UK landfall sites.

Utilising Prismm Environmental’s logistics infrastructure and knowledge of the recycling market, the scheme will focus on specific waste substrates to source solutions for the different materials. This will initially cover rigid polypropylenes, with FESPA UK members across the UK now able to dispose of these materials through the joint initiative. FESPA UK will soon extend the scheme to include PVC and polyester banners, both of which are incredibly common materials used in sign-making and wide-format print jobs across a range of markets.
