Canon India Pvt Ltd recently launched 24 new products to widen its product portfolio. This is a part of its ongoing efforts to double its revenues to Rs 800 crore over the next two years.
The company also made a series of announcements
on the various strategies it would be adopting as it works towards ‘Doubling the delight’ for consumers and partners in India.
The company Canon needs no introduction – it is undoubtedly India’s no 1 complete digital imaging company and the world market leader in digital cameras and digital copiers. As a part of the company’s strategy to double its revenues in India over the next two years, Canon recently launched 24 new products and announced the reorganization of the company’s sales and marketing structure into four new divisions in New Delhi. This reorganization was undertaken with the clear agenda for the company to become more market and consumers focused and enhance sales oriented culture.
Speaking at the launch, Kensaku Konishi, president & CEO, Canon India said, “As we work towards doubling our revenues in India over the next two years, we are aggressively looking at doubling results in all aspects of our business – be it value for partners, delighting our customers, enriching the consumer experience or number of cutting edge products introduced in the market. With the new products that we are launching today across our Imaging Communication and Consumer Products division, we have expanded our portfolio to 138 products for the consumers with the best technology available in the market, leveraging on the capabilities that make Canon the world leader in digital imaging.”
At this launch Canon unveiled products from Canon’s Imaging Communication Products (ICP) division and the Consumer System Products (CSP) division. Products unveiled under the ICP division included 8 digital cameras, 1 compact photo printer and 4 digital video camcorders, while the products unveiled under the CSP division included 3 inkjet printers, 1 All-in-one, 3 laser printers and 4 projectors. This takes the company’s number of products launched in first half of 2007 to 36.
Commenting on the launch, Alok Bharadwaj, vice president, Canon India, said, “Canon is always looking at leading the market with technology innovations and programmes by enhancing value for its customers in India. Canon displays 12-colour iPF9000 at IISS, Mumbai
At the recently concluded India International Sign Show, Mumbai (June 1-3, 2007), Canon displayed imagePROGRAF iPF9000 large format printer. This 60” wide iPF9000 incorporates Canon’s 12 ink full colour pigment ink system. A new one-inch dual print head gives outstanding reproduction of 2400 x 1200 dpi, a 4 Pl droplet size and a total of 30,720 nozzles. Additional RGB colours ensure a wider colour gamut; grey and photo grey ensure better gradation, reduced granularity and high colour accuracy and consistency; whilst pigment ink ensures output that’s stable in lit conditions.
