Autumn Design rejuvenating brands

A change of experience, which is positive, a change that enriches and simplifies life, a change that is delightful, a change for happiness…a change called autumn. Here we are talking about Autumn Design (AD) – a very young, smart and experienced multidisciplinary design firm, with expertise in brand communication, packaging and product design, exhibition design and branded retail environments. S&G in conversation with Deepak Manchanda brings more about this epitome of creative change.

It was a beginning made in 1995 by Ajay Gupta, a product designer from NID, Ahmedabad, who spotted a need for a wide range of design support services required by brand owners. And later, the growing demands from clients as well as the need for added specialization led to the joining of Deepak Manchanda and Arvinder Singh. While Deepak has been an experienced and prolific packaging developer, Arvinder is an architect dedicated to working with branded environments.

We (S&G) started with an obvious query about the branding concept behind Autumn Design? To which Deepak replied, “Autumn symbolizes change, ‘A change for happiness’ this is what Autumn Design (AD) endeavors to bring about through our designs. Our work is an embodiment of what we and our clients believe in.”

With a team of creative designers and client service executives and broad industry expertise, AD has been successfully providing effective and innovative design solutions in different design domains. Presently, the major target segment of the company is the corporate sector and they are also looking forward to provide a design intervention in the hospitality sector as well as web based products.

On asking about the creative campaigns and projects AD has done in the past or handling. Deepak started with a mention of elite clientele they are serving. “We consider it an honor to be associated with the big national and global leaders in the industry, like LG, Samsung , TATA Indicom, Sony, UB Group, HCL, Toshiba, Dabur, Oriflame, DeBeers, Maruti Suzuki, Hero Motors, Glaxo Smithkline, Religare, Rockwell Automation, Hughes and many more, to whom we have offered our services. We have been doing product and packaging design, retail and exhibition design and corporate and brand identities for them,” he added.
 Being associated with such big brands, there must be some projects, which have been executed well by the company, so we enquired about one such project…a best one. To which a prompt reply came from Deepak, “I would say that our best is yet to come!”

And added, “Our work on revitalizing retail formats and identities for TATA Indicom, Religare and Maruti Suzuki have not just been creatively satisfying for our own team but have also brought praise from the client as well as their customers.”

And then Deepak did mention a project, which is most satisfying till now for the company, and added, “If one has to choose between works already completed, there was a project where we created a new identity for a jeweler showroom in Kanpur – Baij Nath Ram Kishore – and managed to rejuvenate an existing, trusted and traditional format jeweler into a contemporary brand with a up-scale retail environment. In fact our satisfaction lies in seeking creative challenges and seeing that the work is executed all the way from sketch to execution to the client’s full satisfaction.”

Considering AD’s team as biggest asset, Deepak had great faith in his team members, “Our combined workforce is of 25 talented people from diverse backgrounds and expertise who manage the entire show. Our teams are geared up to take any project from scratch and are fully capable of delivering it on time anywhere on the globe.”

Autumn Design is based in NCR at Noida and Gurgaon. Being an end-to-end design solution provider, they have well equipped facilities and a friendly work environment where creativity thrives. The design workshops are capable of handling any project involving metal, wood FRP work. They also have an in-house painting facility. They have installed modern machinery like CNC cutting machines to carry out small batch productions also. Throwing more light on the functioning, Deepak added, “We have a wide network and collaborations with different design and execution agencies all over the country that ensures guaranteed deliverables across the country. No doubt we have projects already executed from Ludhiana to Kanyakumari.”

Being a part of the design industry for so many years and seeing “Design” transform the lives of people and brands, Deepak shared a thought on a concluding note, “I feel that good design is ultimately about improving lives and bringing good business as well. We wish to utilize our strengths and skill sets fully. We are setting up new milestones and carving out new paths to keep abreast with the international standards. We are also doing some work for our international clients from Germany, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan and UK.”
